NBC’s late-night lineup has delivered ratings wins in all key categories for the week of July 5-9, as “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” generated their biggest 18-49 and total-viewer results in seven weeks.

Jay won the week in adults 18-49 and total viewers over all cable and broadcast competition, while delivering bigger audiences than CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” rebroadcasts and ABC’s combination of “Nightline” originals and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” encores in every key ratings category: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, as well as total viewers.  Note that all Monday telecasts are excluded from these averages due to the July 4 holiday.

At 12:35 a.m. ET, “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” attracted a bigger 18-49 audience than every cable and broadcast competitor in the hour, while delivering a larger viewership than CBS’s “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” in every key ratings category.  Jimmy Fallon also topped ABC’s “Kimmel” in all key categories despite “Kimmel’s” earlier start time.  “Late Night,” “Late Late Show” and “Kimmel” were all in rebroadcast last week.

For the week of July 5-9, Jay’s average 1.403 million adults 18-49 outscored the 950,000 for Letterman’s encores; in total viewers, Jay’s audience of 4.024 million persons beat Letterman’s 2.954 million; and in adults 18-34, Jay’s 522,000 topped Letterman’s 304,000.  At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon’s 769,000 adults 18-49 for the week topped Ferguson’s 570,000; in total viewers, Jimmy’s 1.653 million led Ferguson’s 1.456 million; and in adults 18-34, Jimmy’s 291,000 out-delivered Ferguson’s 235,000.

For both Jay and Jimmy, their July 5-9 averages in 18-49 viewers and total viewers were their highest since the week of May 17-21, during the May sweep.

At 1:35 a.m. ET, “Last Call with Carson Daly” (0.4 rating in 18-49, 0.3 in 18-34) also delivered its strongest 18-49 and total-viewer results in seven weeks.  Last week’s “Last Call” encores tied CBS’s “Late Late Show” rebroadcasts and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” encores in both adult 18-34 and adult 18-49 rating.
