The question: What celebrity broke her hip Saturday (7/17) when she fell out of bed while watching her favorite TV game show, Jeopardy? There was, however, good news Monday from the hospital.
According to her publicist, the 93-year-old actress took a tumble when she reached to answer the phone while watching TV in her bed in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles. Zsa Zsa Gabor had been partially paralyzed since an auto accident in 2002 and has had to use a wheelchair. She also suffered a stroke in 2005.
After surgery for hip replacement on Monday at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Gabor was said to be on the mend.
Gabor is best known for her movie roles, but appeared numerous times on television as well, though never in a continuing role.
Zsa Zsa was the middle of three sisters born in Hungary. Her elder sister, Magda, who did some acting and became a European/American socialite, died in 1997. Younger sister Eva, who also became a Hollywood actress, died in 1995.
