Jerry DoyleTalk Radio Network Enterprises’ Jerry Doyle host of The Jerry Doyle Show has been named as featured guest at the 2013 Phoenix Comicon event celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the sci-fi series Babylon 5. Doyle was a star of the Emmy Award winning show playing Michael Garibaldi, Chief Security Officer. The event will be held at the Phoenix Convention Center May 23-26.

“The real Jerry Doyle is not far removed from the character that he played in Babylon 5, as they both uphold high standards, are outspoken and live with vivid pasts. The Jerry Doyle Show is a mix of politics, pop culture and current events. Doyle’s strong opinions, diverse background and quick wit appeals to all listening audiences,” says Mark Masters, CEO of TRN Enterprises.

The Jerry Doyle Shows airs weekdays 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. (PT) 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (ET) on over 350 stations.

“I never realized that growing up in Brooklyn, flying jets, working on Wall Street and starring in a sci-fi series was the prerequisite for the fast-paced demands of talk radio,” says Doyle. “But, if that’s what it takes to succeed, I’m glad I did it all.”

At the height of a successful ten-year career on Wall Street, Doyle decided on a new challenge. “I was 35 years old and in a position to take a shot at whatever I wanted to try,” says Doyle. “The Air Force said I was too old to fly fighter jets. I thought about becoming a fishing boat captain, before deciding that acting seemed pretty cool,” said Doyle.

In 1991, he packed up and headed to Hollywood. With no prior acting experience, Doyle hit the streets and phones with a vengeance. Within weeks of arriving in Los Angeles, he landed his first job. He was hired as a “day player” on The Bold and the Beautiful, this role lasted almost a year. He then went on to star in Babylon 5.

  1. As a big Star Trek fan, all I can say about Babylon 5 is that it was the finest science fiction TV series ever made.
