Johnny Rodgers joins Rural Media Group

Johnny “the Jet” Rodgers joined Rural Media Group recently as the Vice President of New Business Development. RMG expanded its team by selecting Rodgers to procure new business for rural America’s most important network. The 1972 Heisman Trophy recipient from the University of Nebraska is making a positive impact.

Known as one of the best return specialists in college and Canadian football history Rodgers is passionate about helping North American youth establish careers in the trade professions.  His public speaking engagements take him across the country from San Diego to Montreal, Canada on a regular basis allowing him to procure new business for RMG.  The 1971 Nebraska vs. Oklahoma “Game of the Century” hangs in Rodger’s office along with numerous media write-ups and awards. Rodgers welcomes the opportunity to educate his fans about RFD-TV, especially those working in agribusiness in the U.S. and Canada

“My responsibilities are to generate and develop new business locally, nationally and internationally by creating awareness through networking and public relations.  I am working with the local chamber of commerce, national chamber and the Canadian government,” stated Rodgers.

Rodgers career spans the definition of teamwork.  He previously worked in the cable magazine business in San Diego where he owned the cable publication Tuned in San Diego, a cable TV and entertainment magazine. “I understand you don’t win the Heisman Trophy’s by yourself, national championships by yourself or build television and radio networks by yourself, it’s always in conjunction with others that you make your greatest accomplishments and teamwork makes your dreams work.  Working together with the RMG management team and building relationships the U.S. and Canada are my main focus.  We can showcase the value of RMG’s 63 million household subscribers and Rural Radio Sirius XM channel 80 agribusiness and western lifestyle channel with the latest news and commodity updates nationwide,” stated Rodgers.
