Just in Case You Didn’t Know Contest Rule Changes Now in Effect

FCCThe broadcast contest rule changes have really, really become effective.


The rules, which allow radio and television stations to post their contest rules online if they wish, became effective Feb. 12.

We reported that the Office of Management and Budget had recently okayed the changes which the commission voted on last fall.

In 2012, Entercom originally petitioned the FCC to allow stations to place their contest rules online; the broadcaster and other owners said the current rushed on-air contest announcements lead to tune-out.
