A group of local business leaders and entrepreneurs will lead a panel discussion entitled “Building a Business as the Economy Recovers” as part of the CBSNewsRadioLA Business Breakfast Series, presented by KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO. The event will take place on Thursday, 4/22 at 7:30 a.m. in Hollywood.

The host of KNX’s daily Money 101 feature, Bob McCormick, will moderate the discussion on how to overcome the obstacles of building a small business, particularly in an uncertain economic environment.  Frank Mottek, host of the KNX Business Hour, will serve as emcee for the event which will include a resource expo, networking opportunities and a continental breakfast.

The panelists will be Lloyd Greif, President and CEO of Greif and Co. and Chairman of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation; Forescee Hogan-Rowles, President and CEO of Community Financial Resource Center; Phil Holland, Founder of My Own Business, Inc.; Mark Mullen, Senior Managing Director of the Office of Economic and Business Policy for the city of Los Angeles; and Brandon Shamim, President and Co-founder of Beacon Management Group.

The Business Breakfast will take place at The Annex on the fifth floor of the Hollywood & Highland complex at 6801 Hollywood Boulevard.  Admission to the event is free but advance registration was required and there are no seats remaining. Additional information is available at www.KNX1070.com/prosper.

RBR-TVBR observation: Looks like the event has already reached maximum capacity. Obviously a free event will do that – if it is worthwhile. This caters directly to one of KNX’s core demos and associates the station with community goodwill AND business. While KNX is not per se a Business Talk station, they will still be able to network this event well with both local and national advertisers/potential advertisers.
