KSNMThe former talker located in Las Cruces, NM is now “Classic Country 570.” The station is one of four in a cluster there along with Great Country 103.9 KGRT-FM, Hot 103.1 KHQT-FM and La Gran D 98.7 KKVS-FM. Sunrise Broadcasting and Richardson Commercial Corp. sold to Adams Radio Group in September to make that cluster. The deal was worth about $4 million, noted The Las Cruces Sun-News.

The station now features songs and artists from the 1960s to the 1990s, from Dolly Parton to Johnny Cash to George Strait.

“On our current country station (103.9 KGRT-FM), we’ve had so many listener requests for classic country,” general manager Veronica Test told the paper. “There’s already two talk radio stations in town, so it just made sense.”

KSNM averaged one of the smallest audiences of all radio stations in Las Cruces, according to Nielsen Audio. Less than one listener tuned in to the station for at least five minutes during a 15-minute period. The other news and talk radio station in town, KOBE-AM, averaged about two listeners in that period.

Meanwhile, Great Country KGRT-FM averaged eight listeners, said the story.

Classic Country will keep the local talk news program “Let’s Talk Las Cruces,” but all other shows have been canceled, including those from FOX Sports Radio in the mornings and evenings.

Classic Country will continue to air Las Cruces high school and New Mexico State University sports.
