Ezra Kucharz is leaving his post as president of CBS Local Digital Media to become a consultant to CBS CEO Leslie Moonves.
He held the job for six+ years.
The change comes as Moonves recently announced CBS Corp. would pursue spinning off the radio group so it becomes a separate company.
In a memo to CBS staff shared with RBR+TVBR, Kucharz says he thinks it’s time to explore his next chapter and is excited to pursue other interests while still being part of the company. “Six plus years ago we launched a business that unified the radio and television stations digital businesses of a major media company. I remain as bullish as ever about the future of the digital business at CBS.”
SVP Communications for CBS Radio Karen Mateo is also leaving next week. In a note to reporters, the broadcast owner said she had been with the company in various capacities since 1992.
