Moonves under fire?
According to the New York Post, Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman is “putting the screws to Les” Moonves in an attempt to oust him as CEO of CBS Corporation and eventually join the two companies back together, with Dauman in charge. Dauman is a long, long time associate of Sumner Redstone, who is Chairman and holds voting control at both companies. Dauman has been the top dog at Viacom since Tom Freston was forced out. The latest tension between Dauman and Moonves came a few days ago when CBS-owned Showtime refused to up its offer for rights to movies from Viacom’s Paramount studio. Viacom and other movie makers currently in deals with Showtime than announced plans to start their own video on demand operation.
