Arbitron releases RADAR 96

Arbitron released its March 2008 RADAR radio network audience reports (RADAR 96) covering January 11, 2007 – December 12, 2007, which includes PPM and diary respondents. The top rankers were pretty much the same as RADAR 95: Jones MAI Adult Power took the P12+ and Adults 25-54 crown; Dial Global Complete FM Network took 18-49; its Dial Global Contemporary Network ranked 2nd in that demo.

The Dial Global News & Information Network also moved up in the rankings to join the Dial Global Complete FM Network and the Dial Global Contemporary Network in the top 10, Persons 12+.

“Overall, I think RADAR 96 is one of the strongest yet for all of the networks and the network radio industry as a whole. Arbitron’s commitment to sample growth as well as enhancements to the RADAR Service have continued to demonstrate the consistency and performance of Network Radio as the media continues to prove to be a necessary part of the national media mix.” said Charles Steinhauer, Dial-Global EVP/Operations.

RADAR 96 marks an increase in sample size to more than 225,000 respondents.  By December 2008, Arbitron plans to increase the sample size to 300,000 respondents.

Some of the biggest changes in target demos included:

A 25-54: Ruby (+43.1%), Renaissance (+19.6%), WON II (-16.0%)
A 18-49: Male Focus (+34.5%), WFM Day (+25.0%), WFM Weekday (+17.7%)

Total Gross Impressions changes:

A 25-54:

Network radio increased +2.5%
Share of Gross Impressions (%): ABCRN 29.0, PRN 27.1, WWO 23.0, AURN 8.7, DG 7.7, JMA 3.1, CMN 1.4

A 18-49:

Network radio increased +1.9%
Share of Gross Impressions (%): PRN 28.2, ABCRN 27.8,  WWO 22.2, AURN 9.2, DG 8.1, JMA 3.1, CMN 1.4

ABC Hispanic Select--replaces Select Market
ABC Hispanic Select appeals to the fastest growing segment of the population. The network consists of a group of highly rated Spanish-language radio stations with a variety of popular formats in the top Hispanic DMA's including Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston and Chicago.
