Disney's SOAPnet is the latest to start its own vertical ad network, reports WSJ. Disney plans to announce the companion website for its cable network SOAPnet has struck deals with 45 similar sites to place ads and run SOAPnet's videos and news. WSJ noted SOAPnet.com's traffic was light and diminishing, so in order to sell ads it needed to be able to offer access to other sites as well.

SOAPNet.com’s website was under construction yesterday, but it did mention: “The SOAPnet Premium Publisher Network” is a comprehensive online advertising and content integration network that unites like-minded entertainment sites to expand reach, increase traffic and maximize advertising revenues. SOAPnet is searching for network participation from sites specializing in television, celebrities and style.
