Apollo Group to buy online ad network Aptimus
Apollo Group, best known for owning the for-profit University of Phoenix, will acquire online ad network Aptimus for 6.25 per share in an all-cash transaction valued at 48 million. Said Aptimus CEO Rob Wrubel about the deal, "This is a significant opportunity to deliver our business vision to one of the most important education companies in the market, improving their ability to reach new students."
Aptimus will continue to provide its services to Internet publishers and advertising customers in other industries. Similarly, Apollo will continue to work with AOL, its subsidiary Advertising.com, as well as with other digital media affiliates and publishers.
