ESPNRadio.com has reached a landmark milestone.  According to Ando Media, which measures nearly 7,000 global streams of audio worldwide, ESPNRadio.com now has the single most listened-to online stream of any terrestrial broadcaster in the world, reaching more than 420,000 unique listeners per month.

Additionally, ESPNRadio.com is the largest, most listened to talk format stream, both terrestrially and via Internet-only streaming.  It generates 1.9 million total sessions per month (an increase of 25 percent compared to last year) and the average session in ESPNRadio.com’s audio stream lasts 2.5 hours.

Since its launch in 1992, ESPN Radio has grown to be the country’s largest sports radio network, providing more than 9,000 hours of talk and event content annually to 750 stations nationwide, including the top 100 markets.  Its website, ESPNRadio.com, is also the most visited online sports radio destination in the U.S. with nearly 9 million page views and over 2 million visits per month.  Recently, ESPN Radio launched its new technology that allows for dynamic, geo-targeted content and ad insertion in both live audio streaming and downloadable audio, allowing for locally relevant content to be delivered in live ESPNRadio.com streams and free ESPN podcasts (including more than 100 podcasts available each month through iTunes).

While ESPN has a large cume nationally, it pales in comparison to the digital streams of stations like WEEI and WFAN in their regional footprints.
