Jobs report boosted stocks on Friday – 9/3/10
Stock prices rose on Friday after the government’s monthly jobs report showed that private employers added 67,000 jobs in August, which was more than had been expected. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 128 points, or 1.2%, to 10,448. Broadcasting stocks rose with the market.
The RBR Radio Index was up 1.678, or 0.7%, to 245.325.
The TVBR Television Index was up 4.478, or 2.5%, to 180.631.
US stock markets were closed Monday in observance of Labor Day and trading will resume Tuesday, September 7th.
