TV revenues down 1% for Gannett

August broadcasting revenues declined 1% at Gannett to 59.7 million. Local gained 2.9% and national fell 9.7%. And, of course, political was off sharply. That was actually the bright spot for the company. Newspaper advertising revenues were down 6% to 360.8 million. Classified plunged 9.5% and local was down 4.6%, while national, the smallest ad section, rose 1.3%. Circulation revenues were off 0.3% to 95.3 million.

Based on current pacings, Gannett says it expects Q3 broadcasting revenues to be down in the mid single digits.
