FCC nears full strength

Commerce Committee Chair Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) has announced a hearing to go over the credentials of the two remaining FCC nominees. The Democrat is Mignon Clyburn; the Republican is Meredith Attwell Baker. The hearing is set for next week at 2:30PM Eastern on Wednesday, 7/15/09.
RBR/TVBR observation: As was the case with Julius Genachowski and Robert McDowell, this is expected to be a congenial and controversy-free proceeding, and unless there is a senator out there looking for a hostage on some other unrelated matter, Clyburn and Baker should be on the job before too much longer.
