EPIX announced that Mediacom Communications, the nation’s seventh largest cable television provider, will begin distributing its multi-platform premium entertainment service to its customers in April 2010.
EPIX is the premium entertainment joint venture formed by Viacom, its Paramount Pictures unit, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (MGM) and Lionsgate. It provides consumers the latest Hollywood movies, 15,000 films from three of the top motion picture libraries and cutting-edge original programming on television, on demand and online, exclusively in HD and SD.
Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
EPIX offers a linear channel, on demand service and online service which enables Mediacom consumers to watch more than 150 films and additional programming in an online, on demand format at anytime and anywhere.
