After the Commission’s Media Bureau approved Gannett’s $1.5 billion acquisition of Belo (12/20) after Gannett and Belo reached a preliminary agreement with DOJ to spin off KMOV-TV (CBS) St. Louis, Meredith says it has a deal to purchase the broadcast assets of television stations in Phoenix and in St. Louis from Gannett and Sander Media for $407.5 million in cash. These stations are part of Gannett’s previously announced acquisition of Belo.
