Mixed Messages In Mid-Week Trading

U.S. stocks moved in different directions on Wednesday, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 46.09, to 21,374.56, and the Nasdaq Composite slipped 25.48, to 6,194.89.


Among the key gainers for the media industry was Urban One. The company led by Alfred Liggins III saw a 21.1% stock jump, ending the day at $2.30.

Entravision saw a 3.3% gain, to $6.35. Beasley Broadcast Group was up 0.5%, to $11.

In the red was Cumulus Media, which shed 2.2% to 51 cents on rumors that Lew Dickey Jr.’s Modern Media Acquisition Corp. is not eyeing Cumulus but Townsquare Media. That company’s shares increased 0.5%, to $10.33.
