The Minority Media and Telecommunications Council has been accumulating a small number of broadcast outlets which it will use prepare segments of the population under-represented in broadcasting for employment and ownership opportunities. Its collection of stations will increase exponentially following Trinity Broadcasting Network’s donation of 155 LPTV stations.

“There was an audible gasp in the room when the announcement was made as it dawned on everyone the extent of this donation. It was astonishing!”

MMTC says it may not be able to take on all of the licenses, but would look to establish partnerships with established broadcasters who would agree to operate incubator programs of their own with certain facilities.

The organization already has at least one candidate lined up to pair with a specific station. Orlando and Mayela Rosales, who are the principals of Media Vista Group, will be matched up with TBN’s W16CJ, Naples FL.
Honig commented, “MMTC is excited and honored to present to Orlando and Mayela Rosales this extraordinary opportunity. We hope this will be one of dozens of success stories for minorities in television ownership that TBN and MMTC will make possible.”
