The organizers haven’t yet announced how much money was raised by Friday’s (9/10) “Stand Up To Cancer” (SU2C) telethon, but The Nielsen Company says 18.3 million people tuned it to watch at least part of the event.
Viewership was up 15.1% from the previous SU2C telecast in September 2008. This year’s TV roadblock was bigger, spanning 17 broadcast and cable networks, including all of the Big Four broadcast networks. The 2008 broadcast had been on ABC, CBS, NBC and a number of cable networks.
