Among the key media companies seeing big movement was Netflix, as the OTT leader saw its stock jump 5.8%, to $152.16, breaking the $150 per share barrier.
Beasley Broadcast Group surged 10.7%, to $16.55, pacing all media stocks.
Meanwhile, iHeartMedia shares were off 2.4%, to $2.05, and Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) fell 2 cents, to 40 cents.
