Nautel‘s NVLT series of transmitters have received an upgrade that incorporates HD Radio technology into their operation.

The company shared the news at the 2017 NAB Show in Las Vegas, with a North Hall exhibit booth.

“We listened,” says Nautel President/CEO Kevin Rodgers. “Thanks to the efforts of our design team, NVLT transmitters can now be easily field-upgraded to support HD Radio transmission with an add-on exciter.”

While most customers who choose NVLT transmitters are focused on analog transmission, Rodgers says that many have indicated they would like the upgrade ability at a later date.

NVLT transmitters were first introduced in 2012 and 2013 with a choice of output power levels ranging from 3.5 kW to 40 kW.

Rodgers notes that the HD upgrade enhancement joins prior updates to the NVLT series see over the last few years, including simple site control, PS scrolling functionality for RDS, and an oscilloscope function.

Nautel is a major global manufacturer of AM and FM radio broadcast transmitters.
