NBC commits to local non-profits

NBCThe O&O platoon of NBC under the auspices of the NBCUniversal Foundation is accepting applications for $1.2M in grants to community organizations in ten markets. The due date is 7/31/13.


The markets included in the program are:

* New York
* Los Angeles
* Chicago,
* Philadelphia
* Dallas-Fort Worth
* San Francisco Bay Area
* Washington, D.C.
* Miami-Fort Lauderdale
* San Diego
* Connecticut

“Innovation is the key to making a sustainable difference in our cities in the 21st century,” said Beth Colleton, Senior Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility for NBCUniversal.  “We are excited to build on last year’s successful program to highlight new, bold initiatives driving forward ideas that combat the issues facing our communities and make them stronger.”

The categories of service eligible for consideration include Civic Engagement, Education, Environment, Jobs and Economic Empowerment, Media Arts and Technology.
