NBC* From 8-10 p.m. ET, “The Voice” (3.9 rating, 11 share in adults 18-49, 10.4 million viewers overall) is the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49 on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW versus CBS’s full Monday lineup, all in originals, as well as ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” and Fox’s “Bones” and “House.”  Head to head, “The Voice” outscored ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” by a 34 percent margin in 18-49 rating (3.9 vs. 2.9) and topped CBS’s 8-10 p.m. comedy lineup by a 15 percent advantage (3.9 vs. 3.4 from 8-10 p.m.).  From its first half-hour to its fourth, this week’s “The Voice” grew by 20 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 4.2 from a 3.5), the most growth over that span for ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CW.

* “The Voice” has now generated NBC’s 10 highest non-Olympic 18-49 ratings in this slot in more than three years (since November 3, 2008).  Versus NBC’s averages in the time period this season prior to “The  Voice,” last night’s telecast is up 117 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 3.9 vs. a 1.8) and up 86 percent in total viewers (10.400 million vs. 5.587 million).

* At 10 p.m. ET, “Smash” (2.1/5 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) is matching its 18-49 rating of the prior two weeks (pending updates), despite facing original competition from CBS’s “Hawaii Five-0” for the first time in three weeks.  In the time period, “Smash” is #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49 and ranks #1 in adults 18-34.

* “Smash” has now delivered NBC’s 10 highest 18-49 in-season ratings in this time period since January 31, 2011.  Last night’s “Smash” beat NBC’s time-period average this season prior to “Smash” by 110 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 2.1 vs. a 1.0) and by 56 percent in total viewers (6.019 million vs. 3.864 million).

* “The Voice” and “Smash” led NBC to the nightlong ratings win in adults 18-49 and other key demographics.  NBC has now won eight of the last 10 Mondays in 18-49, and every Monday that hasn’t featured major sports competition, after having not won an in-season Monday with regularly scheduled programming in four years

  1. Wow Juliet you deserve to win! By the way found evidence this show is so rigged! They say they pick out the songs for the singers HOWEVER Mathai has posted the song she did on the live show Ordinary People which is 1 MONTH old on her youtube channel MathaiMusic. So she sang a song she already had plenty of time to practice! So how far in advance do these contestants REALLY get their music? obviously way more time than the show makes the viewers think! Erin should have done so much better then if everyone gets that much time.
