NBC's annual showing 'It's a Wonderful Life' the winner Friday

From 8-11 p.m., an encore telecast of the 1946 movie classic “It’s a Wonderful Life”(1.4/5 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers) won the night in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics. 


From its first half-hour to its sixth, “It’s a Wonderful Life” increased its 18-49 rating by 80% (to a 1.8 from a  1.0) and its overall viewership by 39% or 1.6 million persons (to 5.7 million from 4.1 million).  This marks NBC’s second consecutive Friday night win in adults 18-49.

“It’s a Wonderful Life” matched NBC’s highest 18-49 average for a Friday night (1.4) since April 30.
 
In the 10:30 lead-in to local news, “It’s a Wonderful Life” delivered a 41% margin of victory in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (2.4 vs. 1.7 for ABC’s second-place “The Santa Clause 2”).

This is NBC’s 30th primetime run of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart, since the movie was brought to broadcast network television in 1994.
