NBC's The Biggest Loser and Parenthood rank No. 2 in their slots

“The Biggest Loser 13” out-rated week two of ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap”.  Parenthood” (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 6 percent in 18-49 rating.


From 8-10 p.m. ET, “The Biggest Loser 13” (2.4/6 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in the time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and most other key demos in a time period that included competition from CBS’s “NCIS” and “NCIS: LA,” ABC’s “Last Man Standing,” “Work It” and “Celebrity Wife Swap” and Fox’s encores of “Glee,” “The New Girl” and “Raising Hope.”  “Biggest Loser” grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by 14 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.5 from a 2.2) and by 10 percent in total viewers (7.0 million vs. 6.4 million), with growth in both categories during each succeeding half-hour.
 
“The Biggest Loser 13” out-rated week two of ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap” head to head from 9-10 p.m ET in 18-49 (with a 2.5 rating that hour vs. a 2.1) and also topped week two of ABC’s “Work It” head to head from 8:30-9 p.m. (2.3 that half-hour vs. a 1.6).

“The Biggest Loser 13” maintained the 18-49 rating of the prior week’s premiere episode (2.4) and is currently up week to week in total viewers by 1 percent (6.642 million vs. 6.589 million).

At 10 p.m., “Parenthood” (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) grew week to week by 6 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 1.7).  In the time period, “Parenthood” ranked #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and most other key categories and tied for #1 in adults 18-34 and was #1 outright in women 18-34.  Note that “Parenthood” has been adding 43 percent to these next-day “live plus same day” ratings when Nielsen issues “live plus seven day” results so far this season.

NBC is #2 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and #2 or tied for #2 in most other key demographics, while tying for #1 in women 18-34.
