New “Revolution” coming to 107.3 in Orlando

Cox Media GroupThere’s an electronic billboard on I-4 near Orlando saying there’s a “revolution coming to 107.3” with a countdown clock, 1 day remaining. Right now, it’s Christian music as “Rejoice 107.3” on the Cox translator for WCFB HD-2.

Theories we’ve heard, on RadioDiscussions.com: “A simulcast of AM 580? Doubtful. 580 holds its own fine against the other sports stations with that solid signal. That leaves rock. OK…. so do they bring back a form of a hard rocking [now-shuttered] WHTQ or WDIZ? Although the call letters are elsewhere it doesn’t matter for a translator. Can you imagine 107-3 DIZ? Has a nice ring to it. BUT….. I’m guessing some kind of new rock “X” format since they already have 97X in Tampa Bay and X102.9 in Jacksonville. Besides, 97X in Tampa Bay runs that semi-auto “you pick the music” gimmick with the web site and app. The term ‘Revolution’ sure would lead me to believe that this is the angle they’ll take. A sort of automated station run out of a closet where “YOU” pick the music.”

Sounds like great theories to us.
