Next Radio HTC OneAn industry gathering is being convened shortly in Detroit, Streamline’s Dash Conference, during which radio’s continued presence on the dashboards of America’s vehicle fleet will be discussed. FM on Cell proponent NextRadio plans to be a big part of it.

NextRadio says it’s teaming with iBiquity to offer a “next generation broadcast solution” that seeks to position radio for the upcoming battle of the dashboard.
Updated metrics are always worth a look:

App downloads: 970,000+
FMs tuned in: 10,500
Hours of listening: 1,310,000
Google rating: 4 out of possible 5

The conference — Dash: The Connected Car AudioTainment™ Conference – is offering NextRadio and iBiquity to make friends and influence people to which they are very much looking forward.

They said they will attempt to “…demonstrate to automakers that broadcasters are innovating in this area. In our experience so far, the NextRadio user interface gets automakers excited because they can easily imagine how the solution translates to dash of the future. It brings radio up to speed (and then some!) with other in-car interactive media apps.”

Dash will convene in Detroit 10/15-16/14.

NextRadio also highlighted a special report that ran in RBR Thursday morning 10/2/14, a personal account on working with FM on Cell from Hubbard Radio Chicago’s Paul Webber. Read it here:
