Newburgh-Middletown, NY has been added to the Nielsen Audio Ratings Markets. This addition will start with the scheduled release of the Spring 2016 survey. Newburgh-Middletown, NY will be measured twice a year.

The Newburgh metro will be comprised of Orange County, NY and the TSA will also include Sullivan county. The metro has an estimated population of 315,300 persons aged 12+, placing the market at rank number 154 among the 275+ markets measured by Nielsen Audio.

“With the reopening of the Newburgh Metro, Nielsen is proving an additional resource for evaluating the region,” according to Jason Finkelberg, Market President Townsquare Media. “In conjunction with the adjacent market of Poughkeepsie, our customers now have the tools needed to evaluate and isolate the region’s local media. New York’s northern suburbs are a diverse area with different listening patterns as you get farther from the city; we are thrilled that measurement now reflects this reality.”

Nielsen will measure the new Newburgh radio market twice each year, beginning with the Spring 2016 survey, covering March 24 through June 15. During the 12-week survey period approximately 560 persons 12+ are expected to complete the Nielsen seven-day radio diary to report their listening for the Newburgh market report.

Also added to the Spring 2016 diary survey is Sioux Falls, SD.
