Seven NRG Media stations are on their way to a new owner. Riverfront Broadcasting LLC is already active in seven markets, some of which came from NGR’s days as a partnership with Waitt Media.
The stations include: KLGA-FM and KLGZ-AM and FM in Algona; KWBG-AM in Boone; KHBT-FM in Humboldt; and KQWC-AM and FM in Webster City.
Terms of the deal were not announced. But the respect each party has for the other was.
NRG Media CEO Mary Quass said the new owners are a perfect match for the Northwestern Iowa stations. “It has been great working with the radio teams in all four markets. They have been an integral part of our company for years and a significant contributor to our company’s growth. At the same time, I am equally excited for the stations. Riverfront Broadcasting shares the same culture and I am confident they have a robust broadcasting future ahead.”
Carolyn Becker, owner of Riverfront Broadcasting LLC said, “Like NRG Media LLC, Riverfront Broadcasting LLC believes in serving our local communities and taking care of their clients, listeners, and employees. This is not going to change with our ownership.”
Co-owner of Riverfront Broadcasting LLC, Doyle Becker said, “We have had a fantastic relationship with NRG Media over the years and are excited to expand our company footprint into Iowa.”
