NYC life launches new fall lineup

NYC life (channel 25 WNYE-TV), the flagship of NYC Media, announced the launch of its expanded fall lineup featuring 10 new series, including the return of the popular Emmy Award-winning $9.99, and more than a dozen new weekly short-form programs showcasing NYC. Part of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, NYC Media is the official TV, radio and online network of the City of New York, informing, educating and entertaining millions of viewers about the City’s diverse people and neighborhoods, government, services, attractions and activities.


Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver and NYC Media General Manager Diane Petzke previewed a first look of the new programming  during the sixth annual New York Television Festival—an indie TV Festival providing a platform to elevate the work of artists creating for the small screen. The new series will premiere on NYC life beginning the week of October 4 and join fifteen series that previously launched earlier this year.

Weeknights, NYC life presents a block of international news offering global perspectives: BBC World News at 6pm, RAI Italian News at 6:30pm, France 24 at 7pm, and Polsat Polish News at 11pm. The popular series Globe Trekker kicks off the night at 7:30pm during the week. New shows will premiere at 8:30pm on different theme nights: Arts & Culture on Mondays; NYC History on Tuesdays; Inside Out New York on Wednesdays; All about Food on Thursdays; and Entertainment on Fridays. Episodes will also be available online after they air on the NYC Media Video on Demand Player: nyc.gov/vod. On the weekends, NYC life also offers an array of children’s programming on Saturday mornings and popular travel and cooking shows on Saturday nights.

NEW FALL SERIES
ART THROUGH TIME: A GLOBAL VIEW (Monday, 8:30pm): Art through Time: A Global View takes viewers on a tour of the City’s museums, providing a history lesson in art from different cultures and eras.

92Y (Monday, 9pm): Over the past seventy-five years, the stage of the 92nd Street Y (92Y) has been graced by fascinating people, including Nobel Laureates and world leaders, giants of literature and science, as well as legendary entertainers and artists.  Tune in each week to 92Y on NYC life and watch conversations from its vast archives.

Jazz Master Class Series from NYU (Monday, 10pm): On Jazz Master Class Series from NYU, legendary jazz musicians perform and discuss their careers in a master class setting, and critique student jazz musicians from around New York City.

$9.99 (Tuesday, 8:30pm): $9.99 returns for an all-new season with a brand new host: NYC life’s Dave Evans. Join him as he explores diverse neighborhoods in all five boroughs and finds places to visit and things to do…all for under ten bucks!

Say I Do, NYC (Wednesday, 8:30pm): Say I Do, NYC brings viewers tips and trends from the bridal world in the Big Apple. Go behind the scenes and meet celebrity wedding planners and world-renowned fashion and cake designers as they help make dreams come true.

Toni On! (Wednesday, 9pm): Toni On! features host Toni Senecal as she takes on New York’s offbeat and unusual locations. Join your hip travel guide Toni as she visits places that make NYC so unique.

Flavorpill Fix (Wednesday, 10:30pm): Flavorpill Fix, with host Leah Taylor, showcases the most exciting new, independent musicians in New York City and from around the country.

LUNCHNYC (Thursday, 8:30pm): Each week join a variety of hosts for LunchNYC, a Birds Nest Foundation production. Take a bite out of the Big Apple, and explore a healthy New York City. Learn quick and inexpensive ways to upgrade your diet and get the most out of your exercise. LunchNYC helps New Yorkers live healthier lifestyles one lunch at a time.

Food. Curated. (Thursday, 9pm): Food. Curated. host Liza de Guia provides a window into the lives and passions of local food artisans, farmers, fishermen and chefs as they share their stories about the origins of good food.

The Movie Loft (Friday, 8:30pm): The Movie Loft gives viewers an entertaining and informative look at the latest movies available on demand within NYC area homes. Hosted by comedian Matty Blake, the show also features celebrity interviews, behind the scenes footage and exclusive previews.
