Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.)’s Deputy Chief of Staff is moving from the Hart Senate Office Building to the Portals.

That’s because this individual has just been selected to serve as Chief of Staff, Media Advisor and Press Contact for Republican FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly.

Brooke Ericson has accepted the role and will start her new duties Oct. 2. She has been with Sen. Johnson’s office since January 2015, and succeeds Robin Colwell, who recently accepted a position on the House of Representatives’ powerful Energy & Commerce Committee, which regulates FCC activities in the lower body of Congress.

Ericson has been primarily responsible for communications work on the Senate Commerce Committee, which oversees the FCC. She has also served with Johnson on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

Ericson joined Sen. Ericson’s office as a legislative counsel in March 2013, following a similar role for Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.).
