Plane crashes into WV PBS affiliate tower

A twin-engine plane crashed into a broadcasting tower in Monongalia County, WV this morning, killing one person, according to WOWK-TV Charleston, WV.


The crash happened at about 10 a.m. on Sand Springs Road. The tower is used by West Virginia Public Broadcasting’s PBS affiliate WNPB-TV Morgantown. PBS is off the air in the Morgantown area. The tower also is used by West Virginia Media Holdings’ WBOY-TV (NBC). Debris from the plane is hanging from the tower. The medical examiner is on the scene of the crash, WBOY is reporting.
