California’s state capital, Sacramento, is the nation’s No. 28 radio market.
Its top two stations, Classic Rocker KSEG-FM “Eagle 96.9” and News/Talk KFBK-AM & FM dominate the market, attracting a large segment of men across the region.
Given the importance of these and other stations for political candidates of national, statewide and local significance, one would think political dollars would be flowing to the market’s AMs and FMs, including Talk KSTE-AM 650, the home of the hugely popular Armstrong & Getty show.
But, in the words of one market observer, “the political dollars just aren’t as robust as people thought it would be.”
