Big AM buys for Davidson

Peter Davidson is using the name Blackstrap Broadcasting to get a couple of major market AMs which were peripherally involved - which is to say uninvolved - in the recent sale of The Sporting News by Vulcan Sports Media. Rose City Radio is the related radio company, and it's already spun off KMPC-AM Los Angeles to P&Y Broadcasting Corporation.

Now Davidson has announced he's picking up the other two, WSNR-AM New York and WWZN-AM Boston. Look for Blackstrap to continue Davidson's focus on ethnic media. "Blackstrap Broadcasting's mission is to provide a platform and a welcoming home for immigrant communities on the public airwaves," said Davidson. "Immigrants are the source of America's strength and prosperity and Blackstrap Broadcasting was formed to celebrate, champion and provide mass media access to these newly arrived Americans." A price for the deal was not immediately announced.
