CBS Radio’s 97.1 AMP Radio (KAMP-FM) announced Carson Daly will host morning drive (6:00-10:00am, pt) beginning 1/4/10. Carson returns to his radio roots in SoCal where, in the past, he worked for 106.7 KROQ. His four hour program will be heard on-air, and online at www.ampradio.com, as well as myriad mobile devices including the iPhone and Blackberry.

"It is very exciting to be back on the airwaves doing mornings on AMP RADIO and to be back in business with my friends at CBS Radio,” said Daly. “Now, not only can people fall asleep to my late night show on NBC, but they can wake up with me on the radio too. I'm thrilled to join a thriving new station in my own hometown.”

After doing nights on the world famous KROQ, Carson became host of MTV’s Total Request Live. In 2002, he moved to late night television for “Last Call with Carson Daly,” currently in its ninth season. In addition to his experience at KROQ, MTV’s TRL and Last Call with Carson Daly, Carson also anchors New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly live from Times Square, now in its sixth year.

Highlights of the station’s ratings performance for the November monthly rating period (October 15–November 11) according to Arbitron:
â–ª AMP ranked 4th in the market with a 3.7 share (persons 6+);
â–ª Total audience reach was 2.82 million persons, which ranks 3rd in the Los Angeles area;
â–ª Among Adults 18-34, AMP RADIO achieved a cume of 1.01 million listeners placing it 3rd among all Los Angeles radio stations.
