Raleigh radio hopes for Conan O’Brien Sheetz feat
Salt and Demetri, who hold down mornings for Curtis Media Group’s WBBB-FM in Raleigh-Durham NC, have heard that Conan O’Brien may take his act to a 7-Eleven parking lot. They don’t have those stores in their area, so they are trying to lure O’Brien to the Research Triangle with an offer to perform at gas station/convenience store Sheetz.
They are even running a poll, asking visitors to their website at www.96rockonline.com which member of O’Brien’s former late night team they would miss the most if he were to leave them behind.
"We don't have 7-Elevens in the Triangle. We have something better," said Demetri. "Sheetz has better food, better coffee and gas." They have set up two Facebook pages to both honor and lure O’Brien into their market, “Triangle Team Coco” and “Bring Coco to the Triangle.”
RBR-TVBR observation: As wonderful as Raleigh-Durham no doubt is, and as tempting as the many treats available at Sheetz may be, we have to believe that O’Brien would prefer another offer we reported on earlier, inviting him to join a radio station in Pago Pago.
