Ron Lundy reported ill
The New York Daily News reports that one of the city’s best-known Top 40 DJs, Ron Lundy, is hospitalized in Mississippi after suffering a series of mini-strokes. Lundy is 75.
The Daily News report details Lundy’s medical setbacks since having a lung removed during cancer treatment.
Ted David has been collecting messages to Lundy from wellwishers on the musicradio77.com website and sending them to Lundy’s wife, Shirley, to read to him in the hospital.
Ron Lundy was one of the top NYC DJs during the heyday of Top 40 on WABC-AM. He later worked at WCBS-FM, before retiring in 1997 to return to his Southern roots.
