The absence of incumbent US Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-MA) from the ballot this year has made the Massachusetts 10th District seat unusually competitive. Clear Channel’s WXKS-AM Boston will host two Republican candidates for the seat in a debate ahead of the state’s 9/14/10 primary.

The candidates are Joe Malone and Jeff Perry. The face-off is scheduled for 9/1/10 bright and early at 7AM local time, and will last for a full hour.

District 10 is said to encompass part of the state’s south shore and Cape Cod.

The 1200 kHz talker has only been in the format since March – it brings conservative talkers Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck to the market.
