Georgia radio host Heath Jackson murdered
Colleagues at WBOJ-FM “88.5 The Truth” Columbus, GA were shocked Tuesday by the murder of morning host and Program Director Heath Jackson. The 25-year-old was apparently shot in his home by a burglar.
According to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, police on Wednesday arrested a suspect with what appeared to be loot from a string of robberies in the neighborhood where Jackson was killed. He is apparently being investigated as a possible murder suspect.
The staff at Christian Contemporary WBOJ is mourning the loss of their friend and asking listeners to pray for his family.
“I want to say how grateful I am for the outpouring of prayers, phone calls, and emails that have come in since learning of the tragic loss of our mutual friend Heath’s life. I want to ask you on behalf of his family that you continue in prayer for them,” said a note on the station website from manager Brian Hite. Funeral arrangements are pending.
“The radio station was one of Heath’s passions, and I know he would be blessed by your show of support for it and us during this time,” Hite added.
