Big bucks on the line

A 1,000-bucks grudge bet hangs on next Sunday's NFL game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts. Jeff Smulyan, CEO of Indy-based Emmis, and Peter Smyth, CEO of Boston-based Greater Media, have put their cash on the line and the loser will personally write a 1K check to the Broadcasters Foundation of America. "The Broadcasters Foundation is near and dear to my heart, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Peter make a thousand-dollar donation," said Smulyan. "I cannot think of a better organization than the Broadcasters Foundation to benefit from Jeff's team's loss," said Smyth.
