Last Bastion flips a Citadel orphan

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
Eliott Evers of brokerage Media Venture Partners is the headmaster of an orphanage comprised of over-the-local-limit Citadel Broadcasting radio stations which lost their grandfather when Citadel merged with elements of ABC Radio. Now the brokerage has announced the first sale from this disparate collection of stations. AA WCLZ-FM, serving the Portland ME market, will be going to one of Citadel's chief competitors there, Ed Christian's Saga Communications. At one time Citadel had six FMs in the sprawling market. It's now down to four, Sage moves up to four and Last Bastion has one more to peddle, WCYI-FM Lewiston ME. The price for WCLZ was not disclosed.
