Premiere trying to woo Hannity from ABC?

Well, it wouldn’t surprise us. After the huge, $400 million dollar deal signed last week with Rush Limbaugh through 2016, The Wall Street Journal is hearing Premiere Radio Networks/Clear Channel is also looking to score Sean Hannity from Citadel/ABC Radio Networks. From the WSJ story on Limbaugh's deal:

“Premiere is in advanced talks with Mr. Hannity to try to woo him away for a sum in the $200 million range over eight years, a person familiar with the situation said. Representatives for Mr. Hannity didn't respond to requests for comment. A spokeswoman for Premiere declined to comment.”

RBR observation: With all of the devastation Citadel CEO Farid Suleman hath wrought on the company and therefore its ABC Radio Networks, they just may not be able to match the $200 million. The deal would also guarantee Hannity even more affiliates. A daily Limbaugh-Hannity block (Noon-6 PM) would be a very compelling vehicle for advertisers.
