WideOrbit updates WO Automation for Radio 2.0; WO Sales, WO Traffic
WideOrbit made three announcements at NAB this week. For starters, they detailed the release of WO Automation for Radio 2.0 (formerly Google Radio Automation), featuring patent pending Leader and Follower functionality and seamless integration with WO Traffic for an end-to-end radio solution.
Leader and Follower functionality allows two or more radio stations to share common programming like music, but break apart for independent commercial breaks or longer segments. All stations can be run from one computer, separate computers or computers in different time zones delivering flexibility and
scalability for broadcasters running multiple stations from a single location.
The integration with WO Traffic, WideOrbit’s sales, traffic and billing system, delivers:
• Live log editing from Traffic: enables traffic managers to make same-day log changes directly from the traffic system, eliminating the need to re-merge the day’s log or restart the on-air system to receive the log updates
• Real-time, automatic spot reconciliation: prevents lost revenue and compliance issues by automatically reconciling spots once they broadcast or fail to broadcast
• Live Copy widget: automatically displays Live Commercial scripts on the DJ’s screen and upon confirmation, automatically reconciles the spot in traffic
• Dub List widget: automatically copies commercial information such as advertiser name and run dates from traffic to automation, eliminating paper-based production orders
• Automatic updates: synchronizes run dates between traffic and automation
• Purge list: allows traffic to automatically delete outdated commercials in automation
WideOrbit also announced significantly expanded modules for CRM, Analytics and Proposal capabilities with the release of WO Sales 2.0, sales management software. WO Sales is web-based, next generation software that was built specifically to meet the needs of media sales professionals and includes three cross-integrated modules:
• WO CRM for sales and account management
• WO Analytics for advanced sales reporting
• WO Proposal for sales avails, proposals and research
This latest release expands on the foundation of the fully integrated sales and traffic solution, and provides new enhancements that help drive revenue by optimizing efficiencies of sales operations, improving visibility and reporting, to maximize the value of ad inventory.
With the new 2.0 release, WO CRM provides enhanced multi-station Opportunities and advanced Microsoft Outlook integration for better account and contact management. WO Analytics delivers significantly expanded Sales Analytics Reports, including Revenue, Pending, Pacing and Budgeting/Forecasting. Custom defined revenue code groups have also been added for enhanced revenue tracking and Opportunity management. WO Proposal now includes a Master Planner Report providing inventory/rating trend analysis along with rate information in a single report. Avail and Proposal rate options have been expanded to support monthly rates, in addition to the current weekly and global rate options.
And last, but not least, WideOrbit announced significant feature enhancements to its core WO Traffic software including bi-directional integration with dominant agency systems provider Donovan Data Systems and support for cable network ops.
WO Traffic allows companies to manage multiple stations, channels and networks, as well as multiple mediums, including TV, radio, cable, digital display and mobile, all on a single system and database.
With the new 5.2 release, WO Traffic delivers bi-directional integration with Donovan’s agency system via WO Central. This integration significantly streamlines buy and sell transactions between agencies and stations, eliminating redundant tasks and reducing costly discrepancies. Additional enhancements to WO Traffic 5.2 are focused on functionality to improve client station’s day-to-day workflow, such as delivering access to full revision history of orders and providing the ability to easily transfer booked orders among account execs using effective dates. In total, more than 300 feature enhancements have been delivered in version 5.2.
Both WO Traffic 5.2 and WO Traffic 6.0 are currently available and running in production at major Cable Network and station operations. During NAB, live demos of WO Traffic can be seen at the WideOrbit booth N5129 in the North Hall. For more information or to schedule a demo, please visit www.wideorbit.com/nab2010.
