AES Successful Despite Economy

In spite of the fact that it convened just as the national and international economy teetered on the brink of a financial meltdown, the 125th Audio Engineering Society convention, held October 2-5 in San Francisco, has been deemed a success by its organizers.

The AES reported an attendance of 17, 892 for the more than 400 exhibits and seminars, including a broadcast engineering conference, which spanned several days. The society alternates between east and west coast venues for its annual meet. Next year's convention is slated for October 9-12 at New York City's Jacob Javits Center.
