Emmis hires industry vet as SVP/Sales

Emmis Communications has hired SBS’s WLEY-FM Chicago VP/GM Terry Hardin for the newly created position of senior vice president of sales for the radio division. Hardin’s duties will include overseeing sales strategy and execution for the company’s seven radio markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis, Austin, Indianapolis and Terre Haute, Ind.
He starts 5/12 and will be based in the offices of Emmis Chicago stations WLUP-FM and WKQX-FM. Pre-SBS, Hardin also operated his own consulting firm and managed major- and large-market stations for CBS Radio, Clear Channel and Chancellor Media.
