| Ray Miklius: |
Broadcast Electronics VP/Studio & Data Operations Ray Miklius tells RBR-TVBR he’s excited about teaming with LocalMedia to get some new innovative services out. The company will allow BE to supply radio clients interactive tools for engaging listeners in real-time song voting, social media networking, and mobile text marketing.
BE will utilize its existing sales, marketing, product development, customer service and management staff to support the new company, “BE Digital Media Solutions, LLC.” Joining the newly created company from LocalMedia are Anthony Webb, the new entity’s VP Engineering; David Hoff, VP User Experience; and Ryan Burgoyne, Business Development Manager.
We also asked Ray about the strategy of offering up multiple social media options to clients; how it will help advertisers and more about the new division formed from the purchase. Listen to the audio, above.
LocalMedia is an application development company specializing in social media and audience interactivity tools for radio broadcasters. BE acquired all licensing, development and support assets for LocalMedia interactive products. Since April, 2011, these products have been marketed by BE under a partnership arrangement and offered under the brand names of CrowdControl, DJ Wall and SMS Campaign Manager.
These award-winning products are used to assist the station in engaging and capturing listeners through interactive, real-time song voting, social media networking via Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and text based mobile marketing. These interactive studio products include custom branded, station specific apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and other mobile platforms. BE will contribute its existing suite of interactive and internet products including iTunes tagging, SoniXtream, the Artist Experience, and other innovative solutions still in development.
