Zimmer zooms into Cookeville

Jerome R. Zimmer, one member of a family with a history of owning radio stations, is getting a quartet of stations from the Clear Channel stable of spin-offs. His company, Great Plains Media, is already active in Illinois and Kansas, and now will be adding Cookeville TN to the fold, according to brokerage firm Kalil & Co., which represented Clear Channel. The stations are effectively a double duopoly comprised of WHUB-AM, WGIC-FM, WGSQ-FM and WPTN-AM. Terms were not immediately available.
