Holston Valley Broadcasting, a company related to Glenwood Communications, is picking up WVEK-FM Cumberland KY from Regina K. Moore’s JBL Broadcasting Inc. The price is 270K cash. The station is getting ready for a city of license change to Weber City VA, which will put it in the border-straddling Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol TN-VA Arbitron market, where it will join three O&O AMs, an O&O FM and an LMA’d FM. And there’s more – the Nielsen Tri-Cities TN-VA DMA is also impacted due to the buyer’s ownership of WKPT-TV Kingsport, currently bringing ABC into the market over Channel 19. HVB is headed by William M. Boyd and George E. Devault Jr.
